Barcelona, January 2019.- The Board of Directors of the SIMAT Group (a corporation specialized in the production and marketing of instant, granulated, and soluble products, for human consumption) has reinforced its operational structure with the appointment of Josep Majó Font as the new CEO. From this position, he will hold the responsibility for the management and development of the business, a position that he will perform together with his current function as Sales Director.
A professional, with an extensive managerial experience, for the last fifteen years, in the areas of business management, sales and marketing areas, Mr. Majó joined SIMAT last March of 2018 to strengthen its human team and thus collaborate in achieving the objectives and challenges of the exercise.
Josep Majó Font takes over from Josep Millán Almirall, Managing Director since September 2015, after communicating his decision to hand over his current operational responsibilities upon reaching retirement age. Its leadership, exemplary commitment and excellent vision have made the SIMAT Group a highly competitive organization that has promoted outstanding growth through excellency and quality.

After starting his management career in the newspaper El Punt in 1999, as Broadcasting Director, Josep Majó joined the food sector in 2001, in Industrias Tordera del Frío (Intorfrisa), when he was appointed as Manager. Later, in 2004 he took on the Sales Management Position for Manuart and the Management of Escanart. Later, before joining SIMAT, between 2016 and 2018, he was first appointed Sales Director for the Darnés Group (Beverages and Marketing) and then Sales and Marketing Director for RehaGirona.

Josep Majó is 53 years old, has a degree in Economics and Business Administration from the Autonomous University of Barcelona and has a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (Full Time MBA) from ESADE Business School.
